More About Mobile Music

Ars Technica has a great article about why Motorola and other companies are resisting having an “iTunes phone.”

Basically put, Mobile phone makers or service providers make more money off of selling things like ringtones, wallpaper and other accessories than the actual service itself.

By teaming up with Apple’s iTunes Music Store, they either have to share profits with Apple or get little in return for having an iTunes phone.

Even more simply, they don’t want to share the pie chart. The problem though is whether or not they can actually make money with their own online or mobile music store?
